About the Chapter

The Austin Chapter is a member organization of AGA, a national association which connects and empowers professionals who support all levels of government to advance good government initiatives, grow their expertise, and accelerate their careers. As a chapter, our goals are to instruct, train and inform government financial managers in accounting, auditing, budgeting, systems, and financial management. This continuing education process will provide for the professional development of government financial managers so that they may better serve the public

Our membership is comprised of individuals employed at state, local and federal governments, the private sector, as well as retired and academic, student and other members. As of May 31, 2024, the Chapter had 90 members. Forty-five of the members are CGFM certified while 24 members are CPA’s, 10 members hold a CIA and 9 are certified as CFE’s. The Chapter continues to grow
